Trusted ADAS Recalibration services

ADAS Recalibration

Modern vehicles use Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like lane assist, collision alerts, and emergency braking. After a windshield replacement, many of these safety systems require recalibration to function properly.

Why ADAS Calibration Is Critical

Your sensors rely on precise alignment. If the windshield is moved even a millimeter, safety features can malfunction.

Calibration ensures these features are operating accurately and safely.

The window is cracked or Lane Keep Assist
Forward Collision Warning
Adaptive Cruise Control
Blind Spot Monitoring
Automatic Emergency Braking
Traffic Sign Recognition
Cameras & Radar
Failing to recalibrate can cause these systems to give false readings or fail entirely.

What to Expect From Start to Finish

Our ADAS Calibration Process

System Scan & Diagnostics

We check for stored fault codes and verify calibration requirements.

Static Calibration

Performed using professional targets and equipment in a controlled environment.

Dynamic Calibration

Your vehicle is driven on a prescribed route to finalize sensor alignment.

Final System Test

We confirm all systems function properly before returning the vehicle.

Full calibration typically takes 30–90 minutes depending on your vehicle.

Types of Calibration

Static Calibration

Static calibration is performed using a controlled mobile setup at your location. This process is commonly required for many newer foreign vehicles. Our technicians follow a detailed, step-by-step procedure to ensure your ADAS systems are calibrated accurately. We complete a pre-scan, replacement (if applicable), calibration, and post-scan to verify your vehicle meets or exceeds Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Dynamic Calibration

Dynamic calibration is completed for select newer domestic vehicles. A portable diagnostic device is connected to the vehicle’s OBD II port, and the vehicle is then driven at manufacturer-specified speeds and distances on well-marked roads. During this controlled road test, the vehicle’s camera system uses real-world driving data to properly relearn and recalibrate, ensuring advanced safety features function as intended.

FAQs

Why do ADAS systems need to be recalibrated?
Any change in windshield position, vehicle structure or sensor alignment can cause safety systems to read incorrectly. Recalibration ensures the system functions as designed.
When is recalibration required?

Recalibration is needed after:

    • Windshield replacement
    • Collision or bodywork
    • Suspension changes or alignment
    • Sensor or camera replacement
    • Airbag deployment
    • Some bumper or grille repairs
How long does a safety system recalibration take?
It typically takes 45–120 minutes, depending on the vehicle and whether static, dynamic, or both types are required.
Will the warning lights on my dashboard turn off after recalibration?
Yes. A successful recalibration usually clears ADAS-related warning lights or error messages.
How do I know if my vehicle needs both static and dynamic recalibration?
Your vehicle’s manufacturer specifications determine this. Many newer models require dual (static + dynamic) recalibration.
What systems are affected by recalibration?

Recalibration can affect:

  • Lane departure warning
  • Lane-keep assist
  • Forward collision alert
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Parking assistance
  • Traffic sign recognition
